This includes new restaurant openings, foodie events and the best deals in the city. Best of Bristol also partners with local restaurants and UberEats to feature regular takeaway giveaways. The Bristol Foodie is dedicated to discovering the best restaurants the city has to offer. What we love about this account is the more thorough process of reviewing the owner goes through. They comment on service and atmosphere (or ‘ambiance’), as well as food quality, and even feature some food snippets on their Instagram Reels and TikTok account. The Bristol Foodie occasionally runs giveaways and has created their own loyalty card scheme to encourage those who enjoy discovering the city’s local food spots to keep doing so: @foodiependentcard. This free card allows users to discover Bristol’s independent food and drink businesses, with offers and discounts for those who sign up

Wapping Wharf may already be somewhere recognisable for local Bristolians. It features a great mix of restaurants and cafes, and even some shops, all housed in cargo containers. For those who have an interest in discovering unique, independent food spots, this account is a great way of seeing what is going on in the harbourside quarter. With regular changes and new unit openings in the wharf, there is always plenty to see and taste. Some of our favourite restaurants that have a place in Wapping Wharf include Mexican restaurant Cargo Cantina (@cargocantina) and tapas bar Gambas (@gambastapasbar).

If you are a regular consumer of takeaways, you may have already used Foodstuff. Foodstuff is a new food delivery service that launched in Bath and has recently arrived in Bristol. What sets this service apart from household names such as UberEats or Deliveroo, is the fact that it only delivers food from a select few independent restaurants. With the promise of eco-friendly delivery (riders can only use bicycles), Foodstuff seems revolutionary in the need to change our takeaway habits so that they do not contribute to the worsening climate crisis. The restaurants used by Foodstuff regularly change so it is always promising new and exciting food opportunities. Follow the account to see the changes.

Ahh toots Cakery and Biscuiter

Ahh toots is a cakery and biscuiter that creates stunning looking sweet treats. The account features regular bakes, from elaborate celebration cakes, to seasonally filled donuts and speciality biscuits. Ahh toots provided a delivery service throughout lockdown, and you can still order your cakes online, but now also has an eat-in cafe in central Bristol, at the bottom of the Christmas Steps. By following Ahh toots on Instagram, you can keep up with the latest bakes and ensure you get your hands on them first. Be warned, their feed is very drool-worthy!

After recently opening a new pizzeria in the neighbouring city of Bath, it is already rumoured that they are launching another one in Cheltenham in the near future. Little French is a fully independent, family-owned restaurant located in the neighbourhood village of Westbury Park in Bristol. What is standout about Little French is its focus on sustainability. As a Farm-to-Table restaurant, it features local, British, seasonal produce on an ever-changing menu.  If you want to keep up with the awards Little French are winning, and the newspapers and TV programmes they are being mentioned in, we recommend following their Instagram. Their feed offers inspiration for how to run a successful restaurant that cares about where the food they serve comes from.

Bristol Squeezed

Have you ever heard of the National Burger Awards? Well, neither had we until we gave Bristol Squeezed a follow. As 2019 winners, owner Alex Hayes and his team make some of the best burgers in the business. With innovative flavours and a diverse menu (and even a Vegan option) you may be surprised to hear that Squeezed even offers really reasonable prices. What we especially love about this account is how it is a candid look into the Squeezed business, giving followers behind the scenes content as well as photos of giant burgers.
